Hippy in the green/lefty sense,not the weed-smoking psychedelic variety.
I am usually behind a camera, not in front and feel awkward with that little lens peering at me. Selfies are so staged they don't make me smile.
What does make me smile:
- the sounds and smells of forests
- petrichor
- dry dark humour
- a swim in the morning sun
-The sun! I am solar powered - if the sun is out, so am I. In the paddock; on the bike; out for a walk; a hit of golf; beach combing; camping; enjoying a meal el fresco. Recent adventures include walks in Kosciusko and SW Tasmania.
I get great pleasure from small things - the first whiff and sip of a good red; the unexpected quick witted and insightful mind of my friend enjoying the same bottle.
Engage in random acts of pats for cats and dogs.
I am:
- fit and exercise regularly, not sporty
- healthy without getting into food and diet trends
- often in jeans and t-shirts, and will frock up for a night out
- fully organic clean skin and consist of all original materials
- rarely in shopping centres. I prefer reclaimed, local and independent, rather than franchised, shiny, new and packaged
- a commercial free zone ; )
- an apostrophe pedant
- serious about my work, so relaxing in my down time is important
- not a fan of spectator sports. Life's too short to sit and watch sport. I swim, bushwalk, hike; will golf, ski, SCUBA. Will surf if you teach me.
- attracted to gentle intelligence
- honest - no photoshopping or false claims here.
- easily distracted by shiny things (swimming pools; rivers; waves; clouds; trees; birds; animals; insects; nice rocks; skinks). You will need to be 'shiny' to keep my attention : )
- emotionally intelligent and work to improve myself
- treading lightly on the planet
Eclectic taste in music. 1940s to somewhere near here. Alternative; Jazz; RnB; rush but not doof; punk; Nick Cave; The Clouds; The Pixies; The Audreys; The Clash; The Stones; The Angels; Lots of bands that start with "The" and some that don't; Santana; Grinderman; Led Zepplin; Geoff Buckley; Elvis Costello & many many many more.
Reading: I have a small pile of books on my bedside table being ignored daily. I'll get back there one day ... Have enjoyed the works of Ian McEwan; Thomas Hardy; Peter Carey; Leunig; Gary Larson. Recent reads "The Beach", "Letters from Victorian Pioneers", Gormanghast trilogy
Don't look at much TV except news docos and movies. SBS and ABC. Rarely commercial channels. No reality TV, singing or cooking competitions for me.
I like independent cinema, biographies, true stories;Tarantino; Bourne trilogy; kids movies - Pixar; chick flicks; historic stories;
Divorced 10 years ago after 17 years of marriage. No kids of my own, but yours are fine and I understand the importance of spending time with your family. I'm honest and patient. And introverted, so time alone is as important as time with others. Not looking to move in with you or vice versa. Let's get to know each other, go with the flow and see where that takes us.
