My original degree was in business/computer science, and I have spent many years working in information technology. However, as long as I can remember, I have loved the medical field, so I decided to go back to school in 2013 to earn my BSN in nursing. I worked several years in critical care, and I currently work as a Home Health Supervisory RN.
I enjoy anything having to do with the water including water skiing, boating, and kayaking. I also enjoy hiking, and camping. I've been an avid bicycler most of my life. I'm no pro, but I do enjoy tennis and bowling. And I love amusement parks. The bigger and faster ride, the better. I also enjoy plays, concerts of all kinds, international fairs, art shows and any of the local happenings. One of my favorite hobbies is remodeling homes, and I have done renovations on numerous houses. I purchased a house built in the 1800's several years ago and am enjoying restoring it. I also like to browse thrift stores, junk shops, and antique stores.
I enjoy travel and have spent about five weeks in Russia and about a month in Ethiopia and Vietnam. I have seen most of Ethiopia with the exception of the northern region and have traveled all the way from Hanoi down to the Sea of Saigon in Viet Nam. Boating down the Mekong Delta was amazing! Both are beautiful countries and filled with wonderful people, many of whom I am still in frequent contact. I have also spent some time in Guatemala and Aruba and have visited Mexico and Canada. I would like to say I have been in Frankfurt and Sudan, but I have only spent LONG hours in their airports. In Sudan, the plane was surrounded by soldiers shouldering AK-47's, so not the most pleasant stopover. I have also been right up to the border patrols in Lithuania, Poland, Somalia and Kenya but didn't have the necessary papers to cross over. I especially enjoy the small villages and countrysides. My dream would be to backpack through as many countries as possible and stay in hostels or small, family-run guest houses or to travel the world by boat ... or maybe both.
I hope to find someone who speaks his mind, loves a good debate and challenges me, is honest, easygoing, has a good sense of humor and is intelligent. I want a best friend who makes my heart flutter.
