About me – I’m relatively new to Charleston (moved here Feb 2020) and am still exploring the area. I value honesty and integrity above all else. I love boating in Charleston, I find it very relaxing floating with little to no traffic or stress. On the weekends, I enjoy taking my dog, Kuroda, to the James Island Dog Park – he loves the water and playing with all the other dogs. Kuroda is a little over 2 years old and looks like a small version of a Black lab, he is the absolute best. I also love to travel and have been fortunate enough to visit just about everywhere in the US that I’d like to (Yosemite and the very large Redwoods in No. Cal are two that have eluded me so far), including many national and state parks. Live music is my passion and I try to get to as many shows a year as I can, with Phish being my favorite (I’m thrilled live music is back!). The Florida Keys are one of my favorite places to visit and I’ve been half a dozen times, there isn’t much more relaxing than the Keys. I have a bunch of friends all over the country because of years of seeing music in many cities, they are some of my closest friends and I look forward to the couple of times each year we get to see each other in person. Last year, during Covid, I expanded my art collection to better appreciate the walls that I was staring at full time and have collected a good bit during that time. I like to think I have a good sense of humor and I love to laugh. I have progressive political ideals and believe everyone deserves a fair shot at life. I like to work hard since it enables playing hard, traveling, and all things fun and adventurous.
I have had quite a few changes recently starting with a decision to get divorced last January, a move to Charleston, from Atlanta, right before the world closed for Covid, and my dog dying last July. But with darkness there is often light that follows and in August I adopted my current dog, who is by far my favorite I’ve ever had (please don’t tell the others). I got a boat in the fall, and everything has been better since the first half of 2020. During the time alone that I had last year, I had ample time to reflect and work on myself and have been learning self-care. Some of the changes I have implemented into my life are daily guided meditation in the morning, gratitude journaling in the evening, and regular therapy. I am feeling better than I have in many years and am looking to find a partner who shares a similar upbeat and fun approach to life.

About the person I am looking for –
A strong empowered lady who is motivated to enjoy life, enjoys intellectual conversations, is honest, and knows how to have fun. I would like to be with a somewhat logical thinking person that appreciates facts and knows how to utilize critical thinking methods to determine their beliefs vs entrusting beliefs to others to dictate. I enjoy grown children, should you have any, but young children are not something I am looking for at this point of my life. I’m a big fan of being direct to ensure there are no miscommunications and hope to find someone on the same page, or at least in the same book.
